More I/O For Your Interface

Get more from your audio interface. Create your own hybrid studio with 500ADAT.

Unlock Your Audio Interface's Untapped Potential.

Did you know your audio interface could have 8 extra recording and playback channels sitting there, waiting to be used in your studio? It's called ADAT and it's the perfect way to expand your current audio interface.

Audio interfaces from major manufactures such as Universal Audio®, Focusrite®, and Apogee® feature ADAT/Optical connectivity on their rear panel connections.

Connect our 500ADAT to these ADAT inputs/outputs and you can increase your total input and output count by 16 channels:

- 8 more channels of recording into your DAW
- 8 more channels of playback out from your DAW

Here's how 500ADAT can expand the I/O count of popular audio interfaces:

What is ADAT?

ADAT is an optical audio protocol designed to transfer digital audio to and from two audio devices.

At 44.1/48kHz sample rates, ADAT can transport 8 channels of uncompressed digital audio to and from an interface and peripheral device, with each direction only needing one Toslink cable.

At higher sample rates such as 88.2/96kHz, one Toslink cable transports 4 channels of audio, however most interfaces feature 2 ADAT inputs/outputs to bring the total of audio channel up to 8 at higher sample rates.

What Is The 500 Series?

The 500 series format is a standard of analogue gear that lives in "modules" - think them as 19" rackmount Preamps, EQ's, and Compressors in a 5" square option card.

500 series modules come in hundreds of variations from manufactures all over the world. They can be Preamps, EQ's, Compressors, Vintage-style, Modern-style - the 500 series format is unlimited with thousands of modules to pick from.

Every 500 series module needs a home to live in. 500ADAT is home to up to 8 modules and makes it easier then ever to integrate analogue, 500 series processing into your studio with the least amount of real-estate and most amount of ease.
